CUHK Information Day to be held this Saturday, introducing the latest admissions information

11 Oct 2022

The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) will hold its Information Day for Undergraduate Admissions this Saturday, 15 October 2022, the first face-to-face information day since the start of the pandemic. The Information Day will provide the latest admission and programme information, and will open up the faculty and college facilities to give students, parents and teachers a better understanding of CUHK.

Talks on new programme and admission provide useful information

CUHK will organise two introductory talks on the new double major programme jointly introduced by CUHK and The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), letting students who are interested in pursuing a career in leading national organisations that focus on development in the Greater Bay Area find out more about the programme. The programme is pending approval from the Senate.

To suit the needs of students from different backgrounds, the talks will include the Non-JUPAS schemes for applicants with sub-degree or overseas qualifications and for applicants from the mainland, to be conducted in Cantonese, English and Putonghua.

Highlights among the diversified programmes

Highlighted programmes this year include the Admission Talk for JUPAS Applicants: Face to Face with CUHKers, a new special panel discussion where CUHK professors and students will give their opinions on education, JUPAS admission and choosing majors; the Sharing by Co-operative Education Programme with Dr John Lai, Director of Office of Co-operative Education Programme and students taking part in the programme, who will discuss the invaluable experience they gained from work placement and pre-employment courses last year; an interview skills workshop; and exhibitions in the University Mall that display works by different CUHK units.

CUHK’s Faculties of Arts, Business Administration, Education, Engineering, Law, Medicine, Science and Social Science will introduce their departments and programmes with exhibitions, admission talks, and laboratory and facility visits featuring various demonstrations. Some faculties will also arrange group discussions with current CUHK students on what life is like at the University.

Opening of college and CUHK facilities

CUHK’s unique college system offers students a harmonious learning environment, strengthening their whole-person development and enriching their learning experience. All of its nine colleges will introduce their culture and features with exhibitions at the event. Students and parents will also be able to visit the colleges’ hostels, history galleries, multimedia centres and sports and leisure amenities. Guided tours will also be arranged of the University Library and other libraries.
