The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) was informed that a student who lived in Adam Schall Residence has been tested positive for COVID-19 infection. The student has been sent to hospital for treatment and is being followed up by the Centre for Health Protection. The University has implemented thorough disinfection and disease prevention measures today to safeguard the health of students and staff.

The student lived in a room on the second floor of the Adam Schall Residence at CUHK. He moved out before he was diagnosed positive of COVID-19 on 2 August, and is now being treated in hospital. To protect the health and safety of all staff and students who have been in contact with this confirmed case, CUHK closed the whole Adam Schall Residence immediately and has arranged thorough cleaning and disinfection of the involved room and public areas today.

Students who have been living on the same floor of the male dormitory wing will be isolated for quarantine. Those staff who have worked in the hostel will be tested for COVID-19. The University is closely communicating with the Centre for Health Protection to follow up the arrangements.

Should students and staff have any enquiries, please contact the University Health Service at 3943 6422.
