“Class Acts” CUHK Online Talk SeriesCUHK Professor Tingting Fan Gives the Third Talk
The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) has organised the “Class Acts” CUHK Online Talk Series. It helps students in ongoing learning at home by acquiring knowledge in different areas during the pandemic. In the third talk today (27 March), Professor Tingting Fan from the Department of Marketing spoke on the topic “Love at First Swipe: Innovations for Online Dating”. Through the video conferencing platform Zoom, Professor Fan explored the history and development of online dating platforms with participating CUHK students, staff members, alumni and members of the public, both local and overseas.
Online dating has become more common in the era of advanced information technology. Love at first “swipe” on the online dating platform has replaced the traditional love at first sight. More innovative models of online dating have been developed. In the talk, Professor Fan told the participants about her observations on the online dating market and responded to online questions from the participants.
The next talk will be given on 31 March 2020 by Dr. Shiu Sing Tong, from the Department of Physics, who will speak on the topic “What Do Gravitational Waves Tell Us?”.
