Mourning Dr Ju Ming
CUHK is saddened by the passing of renowned sculptor Dr Ju Ming and conveys its deepest condolences to his family. Dr Ju received the degree of Doctor of Literature, honoris causa, from CUHK for his distinguished achievements in art and the preservation of cultural heritage. He devoted a great deal of effort to promoting art education and preserving precious artworks.
Dr Ju embraced innovation in his work, combining Asian traditions with modernity. His famous sculpture, the Gate of Wisdom, part of his Taichi Series, has become a landmark at CUHK since it was officially unveiled in December 1987, and is treasured by members of the CUHK community.
