The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and the University of Hong Kong (HKU) held the 14th Vice-Chancellor’s Cup Soccer Match at the Lingnan Stadium on CUHK campus today (12 March).  Officiating at the kick-off ceremony were Prof. Joseph J.Y. Sung, CUHK Vice-Chancellor and President and Prof. Peter Mathieson, HKU President and Vice-Chancellor.  CUHK beat HKU 2-0.

The Vice-Chancellor’s Cup Soccer Match was first played in 2003 to commemorate the collaboration of the two universities during the SARS ordeal.  Including the game today, CUHK has won nine games, HKU has won one, and the teams have tied four times.
