The Shaw Prize in Life Science and Medicine 2025 is awarded to Professor Wolfgang BAUMEISTER for his pioneering development and use of cryogenic-electron tomography (cryo-ET). Professor KANG Byung Ho from CUHK’s School of Life Sciences will deliver a lecture on “Seeing Cells in 3D at Molecular Resolutions in their Lifelike States with Cryo-electron Tomography” to elaborate on how this technique reveals the inner workings of cells, and introduce Professor BAUMEISTER’s achievements.
