Dr. Ching-Yu Yang (American Flower Art School)
Dr. Ching-Yu Yang is an essayist and media veteran. She holds a Ph.D. in Chinese Literature from Tamkang University and serves as a Professor at the American Flower Art School (AFAS). Her extensive media background includes roles in the literary supplement department of the United Daily News and as the Managing Director of The Merit Times.

Throughout his life, Venerable Master Hsing Yun propagated the Dharma through both the written and spoken word, utilizing mediums ranging from print to electronic media. His efforts crossed boundaries and transnational lines, spreading the water of the Dharma across five continents.
In 2000, the Master founded The Merit Times. At that time, while working for the literary supplement of the United Daily News, I was commissioned by the newspaper to interview Venerable Master Hsing Yun regarding his vision for establishing the paper. The interview was published in the United Daily News literary supplement on the very day of The Merit Times’ inaugural issue. Later, I concurrently served as the Director of the Arts and Literature Section and was invited to become the Managing Director of The Merit Times, which granted me profound insights into the conceptual framework and practical application of the Master’s Humanistic Buddhism. During this period, I also contributed long-running columns to the literary supplement, which were eventually compiled into five distinct prose volumes.
