Synopsis of Lecture:

Day and night, Venerable Master Hsing Yun dedicated himself to writing. In his later years, as his eyesight declined, he shifted to dictation, with his spoken words effortlessly flowing into eloquent chapters, culminating in the monumental The Complete Works of Venerable Master Hsing Yun.

The “literature” within The Complete Works extends beyond the fifth category, “Literary Collections,” to encompass the sixth category (“Biographies”), the seventh category (“Diaries”), and the eighth category (“Letters”). In terms of literary genres, it spans poetry, prose (including essays, diaries, and letters), reportage, biography, and fiction, alongside sections defined specifically as “oral literature.” These “ink-trails” (the traces of his written words) closely correspond to the “footsteps” of his global travels; only through both do we perceive the complete picture of Venerable Master Hsing Yun. From this, the profound importance of conducting a literary examination of his works becomes fully evident.
