CUHK holds flag-raising ceremony to commemorate the 28th anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR
The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) held a flag-raising ceremony today (1 July) to celebrate the 28th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR).
The ceremony started at 10:30am at CUHK’s flag-hoisting platform. The national flag was raised alongside the HKSAR flag and the CUHK flag, to a rendition of the national anthem.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Director General of the Liaison Department of the Office for Safeguarding National Security of the Central People’s Government in the HKSAR Mr Xie Zhixiang; Director-General of The Policy Research Department, Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Central People’s Government of the PRC in Hong Kong Mr Bao Haibin; Council Chairman Professor John Chai Yat-chiu; and Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Dennis Lo Yuk-ming, along with distinguished guests including Council members, members of the University’s management team, staff, students and alumni.
