Biography of Speaker:

Professor Cheng is the Emeritus Professor of the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology of the Faculty of Medicine, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. After graduated with MB BS degree from the University of Hong Kong in 1976, he was awarded the Commonwealth Medical Fellowships to further study and training in orthopaedics at the University of Oxford and the University of Edinburgh in 1982-83 and in 1999, Doctor of Medicine (with merits) by CUHK. He has served a total of 37 years in CUHK and the Prince of Wales Teaching Hospital before retirement this year.

Professor Cheng is a paediatric orthopaedics specialist with special interests in the etiopathogenesis of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis, congenital muscular torticollis, neuromuscular diseases, bone mineral and bone health research and biomaterial basic science and applied studies.
