Over 2,000 teachers, students, alumni and friends gathered to commemorate this significant milestone in the College\u2019s history.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The ceremony was honoured by the presence of eight distinguished officiating guests: <strong>Mr Tang Ping-keung<\/strong>, Secretary for Security of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People\u2019s Republic of China (HKSAR);<strong> Mr Chris Sun Yuk-han<\/strong>, Secretary for Labour and Welfare of the HKSAR; <strong>Professor John Chai Yat-chiu<\/strong>, Chairman of the CUHK Council; <strong>Dr Norman Chan Tak-lam<\/strong>, Vice-Chairman of the CUHK Council and Chairman of the CCC Board of Trustees; <strong>Professor Dennis Lo Yuk-ming<\/strong>, Vice-Chancellor and President of CUHK; <strong>Professor Ko Wing-hung<\/strong>, Associate Vice-President and University Dean of Students of CUHK, and Chairman of the CCC 75th Anniversary Celebration Organising Committee; <strong>Professor Kwan Mei-po<\/strong>, Head of CCC; and<strong> Mr Anthony Ngai King-kwok<\/strong>, Chairman of the Carnival Committee of the CCC 75th Anniversary Celebration Organising Committee.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The theme of Chung Chi College\u2019s 75th anniversary is \u201cChung Chi Spirit. Joyful Journey. Celebrating 75 Years\u201d. Dr Norman Chan Tak-lam noted that this carnival serves as the prelude to the anniversary celebrations. Over the coming year, the College will host a series of events, including thematic talks, the CC75 Star talent contest, the CC75 Full Cup sports competition, a cruise tour and an anniversary gala. They will provide opportunities for teachers, students and alumni to explore the world of Chung Chi, relive the joy of their campus life and celebrate the College\u2019s 75-year legacy.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>During the ceremony, the officiating guests beat drums in unison and chanted \u201cChung Chi College, a family so dear, in CUHK\u2019s embrace, we hold it near\u201d together, symbolising the unity between Chung Chi and the rest of CUHK, and expressing their wish for the College to carry forward its legacy and achieve new glory. Next, over 2,000 attendees sang the Chung Chi College anthem together, setting a record for the largest group performance of the song. A subsequent friendly tug-of-war saw Mr Tang and Mr Ngai lead their teammates to compete for honours, showcasing the teamwork and perseverance of members of the Chung Chi community.<\/p>\n<p>The carnival featured a rich, diverse array of fun activities, with over 80 events and booths, including fun games, sports experiences, creative markets run by teachers, students and alumni, bouncy castles, a themed photo zone, food stalls, departmental interactive zones and a pet-friendly area.
