Dr. Lauren Tilton is\u00a0the E. Claiborne Robins Professor of Liberal Arts and\u00a0Digital Humanities in the Department of Rhetoric & Communication Studies.\u00a0Her research focuses on analyzing, developing, and applying digital and computational methods to the study of 20th and 21st century documentary expression and visual culture.\u00a0Tilton\u2019s first book,\u00a0Humanities Data in R: Exploring Networks, Geospatial Data, Images, and Texts<\/em>\u00a0(2015, second edition forthcoming), built off work applying digital humanities to the study of photography for the digital, public humanities project, Photogrammar\u00a0(photogrammar.org<\/a>), which she directs.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n <\/p>\r\n Dr. Andrew Piper is Professor and William Dawson Scholar in the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at McGill University. He directs .txtLAB<\/a>, a digital humanities laboratory at McGill, and is editor of the new web-based, open-access journal,\u00a0CA: Journal of Cultural Analytics<\/a>. His work focuses on applying the tools and techniques of data science to the study of literature and culture, with a particular emphasis on questions of cultural capital, institutional prestige, and intellectual diversity. He has on-going projects that address the\u00a0inequalities of culture<\/a>,\u00a0academic publishing and power<\/a>, and the\u00a0history of the visual page<\/a>.
