Professor Forrest Gander
Forrest Gander (1956 –) is an internationally renowned American poet, writer, translator and interdisciplinary collaborator. His poetry collection Be With won the Pulitzer Prize in 2019. Professor Gander will serve as the Chinese University of Hong Kong’s Artist-in-Residence for 2025 and will visit the campus this November to host and participate in a series of events, including an exhibition, public reading and poetry workshops, engaging with the CUHK community.
Professor Gander holds degrees in geology and English literature, and is known integrating literature, science, and art. He has taught at Harvard University and is the A.K. Seaver Professor Emeritus of Literary Arts and Comparative Literature at Brown University.

Joining Professor Gander are Ashwini Bhat, a transdisciplinary artist who spent thirty-five years in southern India and now lives and works in California, and Professor Collier Nogues from the Department of English. They will engage in an insightful exchange on the interrelations among poetry, creativity, nature, the arts, and humanity.
