The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) held its Information Day on campus for Undergraduate Admissions\u00a0today (11 October), welcoming nearly 60,000 visitors, including students, parents, and teachers. Visitors explored CUHK\u2019s latest admission information, programme and unique campus experience.<\/p>\r\n
Multiple admission talks and insights sharing<\/strong><\/p>\r\n One of the featured events, \u201cAdmission Talk for JUPAS Applicants: Face to Face with CUHKers,\u201d was hosted by Professor Andy Wong Ka-chat<\/strong>, Director of Admissions and Financial Aid, who introduced the JUPAS admission process. Speakers included CUHK alumna Dr Yannie Soo<\/strong>, Assistant Chief Hospital Manager and Specialist in Neurology, Union Hospital; Professor Anthony Fung Ying-him<\/strong>, Dean of Social Science and Wei Lun Professor of Journalism and Communication; Professor Wong Nim-yan<\/strong>, Associate Dean of Arts and Associate Professor, Department of Chinese Language and Literature; Ms Eunice Leung, a year two student of Global Business Studies; and Mr Tang Yu-hin, a year four student of Exercise Science and Health Education. They shared insights on CUHK\u2019s educational philosophy, programme selection tips, and personal experiences, offering practical advice on academic and career planning.<\/p>\r\n Additionally, the admission talk for the new Diplomacy and International Studies programme attracted strong interest from students and parents. The University also organised multiple admission talks conducted in Cantonese, English and Mandarin, covering various admission pathways.<\/p>\r\n Diverse activities showcase campus culture<\/strong><\/p>\r\n All eight CUHK Faculties and their departments showcased their academic strengths through exhibitions, programme talks, lab visits, and demonstrations. Students, parents, and teachers participated in workshops and classroom experiences, engaging with CUHK students and alumni to gain a deeper understanding of the University\u2019s academic atmosphere and multicultural campus culture.<\/p>\r\n Impressive 2025 admission results<\/strong><\/p>\r\n This year, CUHK admitted 2,978 undergraduate students through JUPAS, with nearly all being Band A students, including one \u201cultimate top scorer\u201d (Level 5** in eight subjects), four \u201csuper top scorers\u201d (Level 5** in seven subjects), and two \u201ctop scorers\u201d (Level 5** in six subjects) in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE), the highest among all tertiary institutions in Hong Kong. CUHK admitted half of Hong Kong\u2019s top 100 students in their best five HKDSE subjects, and the number of levels 5** and 5*, affirming its status as a top choice for high achievers. The median admission scores for all 2025 programmes have been uploaded to the university\u2019s website for reference by next year\u2019s Form 6 students.<\/p>\r\n CUHK also admitted about over 880 non-local undergraduate students through various pathways\u00a0this year. These students are from 27 countries and regions, including the Chinese Mainland, Australia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Canada, Egypt, Ethiopia, Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, New Zealand, Philippines, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, the United States, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.
