It will run until 5 May 2024. Members of the public are welcome to visit the exhibition.<\/p>\r\n<p>The Museum is showcasing 60 treasured artworks, dating from the Shang dynasty to the near-modern era, including rare imperial porcelain, calligraphy and paintings from Guangdong, and masterpieces by Hong Kong artists. The exhibition features a wide range of categories, including oracle bones, jadeware, goldware, z<em>isha<\/em>, enamel, lacquerware, bamboo carving and others. Highlights include a <em>w<\/em><em>anshou<\/em> vase in underglaze blue, a white jade box with orchids attributed to Lu Zigang, Chen Xianzhang\u2019s <em>Response to the Poems of Night Sprinkle in White Horse Temple with Matching Rhyme in Running-cursive Script<\/em>, Gao Jianfu\u2019s <em>Wither Lotus in Snow<\/em>, and Yip Yan-chuen\u2019s <em>Pearl of the Orient<\/em>. The exhibition comprises three chapters, <em>The Beginning<\/em>, <em>The Journeys<\/em> and <em>The New Page<\/em>, which tell the stories respectively of the establishment of the Art Museum; its collections and academic research; and its rapid development and plans to expand with a new wing.<\/p>\r\n<p>To celebrate the CUHK\u2019s 60 years, distinguished CUers from various fields were invited to learn about the history of the selected cultural relics and share their own interpretations in audio recordings. The guests include Dr Lee Lai-shan, Dr Brigitte Lin Ching-hsia, Ms Wong Ching-yi, Dr Sampson Wong, Mr Adam Wong Sau-ping and Mr Mau Hou-cheong (please refer to the <strong>Appendix<\/strong> for details).<\/p>\r\n<p>Since it was established in 1971, the Art Museum has embraced the University\u2019s mission of combining tradition with modernity, bringing together China and the West, and upholding the vision of illuminating Chinese civilisation by giving voice to silent artefacts.
