Four scholars from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) received awards from the 2023-24 Research Grants Council (RGC) Research Fellow Scheme (RFS) in recognition of their distinguished research achievements.<\/p>\r\n
CUHK\u2019s Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Sham Mai-har <\/strong>said, \u201cI am very pleased to learn that among the 10 RGC RFS awardees, four are from CUHK. Such remarkable achievement is no doubt a testimony of the University having a pool of promising young research talent. We are proud of these four researchers and look forward to the valuable contributions and impact to the society that their innovative research shall bring. CUHK will continue our effort in nurturing new generation of outstanding researchers to pursue research excellence, so as to enhance the research competitiveness of Hong Kong in the international arena.\u201d<\/p>\r\n The scholars to receive awards from the RGC RFS are Professor Jonathan Choi Chung-hang<\/strong>, an Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering; Professor Gao Zhenyu<\/strong>, an Associate Professor in the Department of Finance; Professor Gu Zhengcheng<\/strong>, an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics; and Professor Sun Xiankai<\/strong>, an Associate Professor in the Department of Electronic Engineering. Professor Choi\u2019s research project is \u201cPreclinical Translation of Spherical Nucleic Acid Nanostructures for Managing Cardiovascular Diseases\u201d; Professor Gao\u2019s is \u201cIn Response to Climate Change: Beliefs and Actions of Governments, Individuals, Institutions, and Corporations\u201d; Professor Gu\u2019s is \u201cTopological Phase Transition and Quantum Criticality: Beyond Landau\u2019s Paradigm\u201d; and Professor Sun\u2019s is \u201cPhononic Integrated Circuits for Next-generation Phononic-optoelectronic Integrated Chips\u201d.
