The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) welcomes the Chief Executive\u2019s 2022 Policy Address, which pledged to nurture and attract a diversified talent pool, and introduced measures to enhance Hong Kong\u2019s innovation and technology (I&T) development. They include: launching the $10 billion \u201cResearch, Academic and Industry Sectors One-plus Scheme\u201d (RAISe+ Scheme), promoting the transformation of research and development (R&D) outcomes and industry development, increasing the number of UGC-funded research postgraduate (RPg) places, and launching additional measures that focus on attracting I&T talents. The University believes that these measures will help attract and train leading scientific research talents, promote innovation and technology (I&T), and contribute to Hong Kong, the nation and the world.<\/p>\r\n
A CUHK spokesperson said, \u201cWe are delighted to see that many of the initiatives in the Policy Address align with suggestions made in our recent submission during the public consultation period, demonstrating a strong alignment between the University\u2019s priorities and the government\u2019s agenda. CUHK\u2019s teaching and research capabilities in biomedical sciences, artificial intelligence and data science, and financial engineering are world-leading. The University looks forward to working with the government in pursuing these important objectives for the future of Hong Kong.\u201d<\/p>\r\n
CUHK submitted a range of proposals to the government as part of the public consultation on the Policy Address.
