CUHK\u2019s ranking has risen for three consecutive years, and this is the seventh consecutive year that it has been ranked among the world\u2019s top 100, as well as its strongest performance since it was first listed in 2010. This impressive result demonstrates CUHK\u2019s continued influence and leading position in the global higher education community.<\/p>\r\n<p>CUHK achieved an overall score of 73.2 and was ranked among the world\u2019s top 100 in teaching, research, citations and international outlook. Among the metrics used to compile the rankings, CUHK attained the highest possible score in \u201cpublications per member of staff\u201d and \u201cresearch income to academic staff\u201d; scored 99.9 in \u201cinstitutional income to academic staff\u201d and \u201cproportion of international academic staff\u201d; and also showed significant improvement in \u201cteaching reputation\u201d and \u201cresearch reputation\u201d compared to last year.<\/p>\r\n<p>CUHK\u2019s Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Rocky S. Tuan said, \u201cThe Times Higher Education 2023 World University Rankings result is a testament of the outstanding talent, and extraordinary dedication and vision of the entire CUHK community. Research and innovation, global engagement, and development and recruitment are all core objectives of the CUHK 2021-2025 Strategic Plan, and are anchored by our mission to achieve excellence with purpose and responsibility. This result speaks volumes about our commitment to excellence, and I am truly inspired by and grateful to our community\u2019s dedication to the pursuit of excellence in everything that we do. With Hong Kong\u2019s evolution and transition to a knowledge-based economy and integration with the nation\u2019s development, our world-class universities are primed to make vital contributions to the city\u2019s endeavours as a super connector between China and the world. This globally recognised academic standing of CUHK is indeed a strong vote of confidence in the university\u2019s capacity to contribute to these important tasks\u201d.<\/p>\r\n<p>The 2023 THE World University Rankings include 1,799 universities across 104 countries and regions.
