CUHK holds Information Day 2025 this Saturday, showcasing latest admission information
The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) will hold its Information Day for Undergraduate Admissions this Saturday (11 October), providing the latest admission and programme information to help students, parents and teachers gain a deeper understanding of CUHK’s unique learning experience.
Talks on new interdisciplinary programme and admissions provide practical information
CUHK will introduce a new interdisciplinary programme Diplomacy and International Studies this year. Jointly offered by the Faculty of Social Science and the Faculty of Law, the new programme is expected to launch in 2026 after being approved by CUHK’s Senate. To address the rapidly evolving landscape of geopolitics and international diplomacy, the programme will offer an interdisciplinary curriculum covering international relations, national security, international political economy, mediation and conflict resolution and more, cultivating students’ global perspectives and intercultural competence. Students will have opportunities to intern at embassies and international organisations such as UNESCO and the WHO, participate in mandatory summer training and join exchange programmes, laying a solid foundation for managing China-related affairs on the global stage in the future.
To cater to students from diverse backgrounds, multiple admission talks and Q&A sessions will be held in Cantonese, English and Mandarin, covering various admission pathways, including non-JUPAS schemes, applications with sub-degree or overseas qualifications, and pathways for mainland students.
Highlights among the diverse programmes
A key event this year is the “Admission Talk for JUPAS Applicants: Face to Face with CUHKers”, featuring CUHK alumna Dr Yannie Soo, Assistant Chief Hospital Manager and Specialist in Neurology, Union Hospital; Professor Anthony Fung Ying-him, Dean of Social Science and Wei Lun Professor of Journalism and Communication; Professor Wong Nim-yan, Associate Dean of Arts and Associate Professor, Department of Chinese Language and Literature; Ms Eunice Leung, a year two student of Global Business Studies; and Mr Tang Yu-hin, a year four student of Exercise Science and Health Education. They will share insights on educational philosophy, JUPAS admission tips and major selection. Professor Andy Wong Ka-chat, Director of Admissions and Financial Aid, will also explain the JUPAS admission process.
CUHK’s Faculties of Arts, Business Administration, Education, Engineering, Law, Medicine, Science and Social Science will showcase their departments and programmes through exhibitions, admission talks, laboratory and facility visits, and demonstrations. Some faculties will also offer workshops, mini lectures and sharing sessions by students and alumni to highlight CUHK’s academic environment and vibrant campus life.
Opening of colleges and CUHK facilities
CUHK’s unique college system fosters a warm and harmonious learning environment, promoting whole-person development and enriching both academic and personal experiences. On Information Day, all nine colleges will hold exhibitions to showcase their distinct cultures and features. Students and parents can visit college hostels, history gallery, multimedia centres, and sports and leisure facilities. Additionally, guided tours will be arranged to explore the Art Museum, University Library and its branches.
