CUHK holds flag-raising ceremony to commemorate the 29th anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR
The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) held a flag-raising ceremony today (1 July) to celebrate the 29th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) of the People’s Republic of China (PRC).
The ceremony started at 10:30am at CUHK’s flag-hoisting platform. The national flag was raised alongside the HKSAR flag and the CUHK flag, to a rendition of the national anthem.
The ceremony was attended by Mr Leo Cheng, Level 2 inspector general, Department of Educational, Scientific and Technological Affairs, the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the HKSAR; Mr Bao Haibin, Director-General of the Policy Research Department, the Commissioner’s Office of China’s Foreign Ministry in the HKSAR; Professor Jasper Tsang Yok-sing, GBM, Honorary Professor of CUHK’s Faculty of Social Science; Professor John Chai Yat-chiu, CUHK Council Chairman; and Professor Dennis Lo Yuk-ming, CUHK Vice-Chancellor and President, along with distinguished guests including Council members, members of the University’s management team, staff, students and alumni.
