Chung Chi College presents 75th anniversary Excellence Talk Series on inspiring minds
Dr Brigitte Lin Ching-hsia shares life lessons to overwhelming response
Chung Chi College (CCC) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is celebrating its 75th anniversary with a series of commemorative events. One of the most anticipated flagship initiatives, the Excellence Talk Series, concluded today (25 April), with the theme of “Inspiring Minds”. The College was honoured to welcome as the keynote speaker renowned actress and writer Dr Brigitte Lin Ching-hsia, who shared her experiences and profound insights drawn from her life.
The talk, “Wonders in Every Step; Splendors at Every Turn”, was moderated by Professor Serena Jin Sheng-hwa, Emeritus Professor of Translation at CUHK and President Emeritus of The Hong Kong Translation Society. Dr Lin spoke warmly of her curiosity about and passion for the world. She recounted how she has explored life’s possibilities and cherished every moving scene along the way. She also reflected on her continuous personal growth and the importance of bringing joy to oneself and others.
The talk received an overwhelmingly positive response, attracting nearly 3,000 students, staff, alumni and members of the public. The main venue, Chung Chi College Chapel, was full, while the talk was also broadcast live at multiple locations across the campus. The enthusiastic atmosphere underscored the community’s powerful interest in spiritual nourishment and highlighted the College’s vital role in promoting whole-person education.
The final talk of Chung Chi College’s 75th Anniversary Excellence Talk Series will be held on 11 July, under the theme “Innovating the Future”. Professor Philip Chiu Wai-yan, Dean of CUHK’s Faculty of Medicine, and Professor Herbert Chia Pun-kok, Director of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited, will introduce the latest breakthroughs in medical engineering and AI.
