Biography of Speaker:

Talk 1:
Mr. Robert Wu is the President and Founder of Eslite Corporation. He established the Eslite Bookstore in 1989 by creating a new bookstore culture and differentiating itself from other traditional bookstores. He is widely respected by practitioners in the industry of art and culture. Despite failures during the initial phase of establishment, Eslite managed to establish its own “Eslite Phenomenon” with its unique business model, which subsequently became the model in the industry. The Chinese word “誠” means sincere attitude and persistent caring; “品” means professional accomplishments and conscientious choices. The name Eslite (誠品) symbolizes the bookstore’s pursuit and practices towards a wonderful society. During the talk, Mr. Robert Wu will share his thoughts on life and development.

Talk 2:
Mr. Shih Wing-ching established the Centaline Property Agency Limited in 1978, and subsequently established the free daily newspaper in 2005. Mr. Shih shared his viewpoints and analyzes social phenomenon in his column every weekday. The positioning of emphasizes simple and precise news information, reporting on issues that capture the latest interest of Hong Kong readers. The news content of is well known for its trendy design and artistic cover page. The president of , Mr. Alan Lo, is an alumnus of the Journalism and Communication programme at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. The daily circulation of is estimated to be around 400,000. Its slogan is “self-created space”. Mr. Shih will share his vision and aspirations in establishing the newspaper.

Talk3:
HOUSE NEWS was established in July, 2012. It was the first media in Hong Kong using the “Curator” model pulling together original reporting and news. The House News collect, organize, plan the information before presenting to the audience. The slogan of House News is “My City, My View, My Home Court”. With reference to the Huffington Post website model from the U.S.A., it aims to pull together various viewpoints in the city, motivate discussions on social issues, and differentiate itself from media organizations with traditional meaning. During the talk, Mr. Tsoi Tung Ho together with his teammates will share with us their experiences with the House News.
