Topic: Collecting Huang chao li qi ritual vessels in Australia: a most unlikely venture!

Speaker: Dr. Iain Clark (Independent Scholar)

Description: In his address “Collecting Huang chao li qi ritual vessels in Australia: a most unlikely venture“, Dr Clark will outline the influences which gave rise to his highly unusual special interest in this previously obscure group of Qing imperial ceramics and recall several highlights from the more than 30 years he spent building the study collection, which has now been passed to the CUHK Art Museum and lies at the heart of the present exhibition. He will also touch on difficulties in identifying and describing Huang chao li qi ritual vessels and avenues of research still to be investigated.
