Mr. YANG Jin Lin

Biography of Speaker:

Yang Jinlin, founder of Yang Jinlin New Media, was born in Xiamen, Fujiang in 1953. He moved to Hong Kong in 1988, and had since then worked as a chief editorial writer and editor-in-chief for a number of newspaper agencies. Mr. Yang published up to millions of editorial words in columns for prestigious press including Yazhou Zhoukan, Ming Pao, Lianhe Zaobao, Economic Journal, China Times, and Sin Chew Daily. In 2002 Mr. Yang joined the Phoenix Satellite Television and hosted several popular television shows, including the award-winning You Bao Tian Tian Du (Newspaper Everyday). In January 2013, Mr. Yang founded Yang Jinlin New Media, a Hong Kong-based start-up which specializes in producing and distributing a wide range of online video and television programs. Ye Ye Tan ( Let’s Cheers!), one of the company’s flagship online talkshow, received a total of 1.5 billion page views in 2014.

In view of China’s rapid economic growth in recent years, New Asia College introduced the “New Asia Lectures on Contemporary China” in 2012 with the aim of stimulating public interest in the development of and challenges faced by China. A scholar or public figure from various professions will be invited each year to deliver lectures/seminars on recent issues. This year, we are honored to have invited Mr. YANG Jin Lin, founder and president of Yang Jinlin New Media, to deliver two open lectures.

1st Lecture
