Joseph Koo, the godfather of Hong Kong Pop music, has been writing numerous songs since 1950s. Many of them are regarded as classics and widely known among different generations of Hong Kong people. In December 2014, CUHK will confer the degree of Doctor of Social Science, honoris causa, on Joseph Koo in recognition of his contribution to the Hong Kong cultural scene.

In retrospective of Joseph Koo’s musical oeuvre, the Tribute concert will feature new choral arrangements of Koo’s classic songs by a group of young composers presented by Apple Tree Music, which comprises of many CUHK alumni. Renowned singers Paula Tsui and Hins Cheung will also join this unique celebration of Joseph Koo’s music.

With generous support of Dr. Joseph Koo, this fundraising concert will contribute to the newly-established ‘Continuous Development Scheme’. which aims to support the future artistic development of the CU Chorus in order to reach higher artistic achievements in international concert stage.
