The CU303 • Care & Unite Programme is now recruiting CUHK volunteers for an elderly recreational activity organized by the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Lok Ying Outreaching Allied Health Service. The service provides outreach social, recreational and allied health support to elderly residents living in residential care homes, helping them maintain their well-being and social connections.
Elderly residents from two care homes were previously connected through a pen-pal programme. This activity will bring them together for a museum visit and lunch gathering, allowing them to strengthen the friendships they have built through written correspondence.
As a volunteer, you will accompany elderly participants throughout the event and:
🔹 Provide one-on-one support to elderly participants
🔹 Accompany residents during the guided museum tour and lunch
🔹 Engage with residents in Contanese and create meaningful interactions
🔹 Assist with participant safety and, where necessary, provide wheelchair support
We welcome participation from CUHK staff, students and alumni. Priority will be given to CU303 members. Selected volunteers will receive a confirmation email with detailed arrangements closer to the event date.
