Visit by Beijing Central Media Organisations to CUHK School of Journalism and Communication
On 9 April 2026, the Chinese University of Hong Kong’s (CUHK) School of Journalism and Communication welcomed a delegation of editors from Beijing-based central media organisations during their visit to Hong Kong, organised by the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of The State Council. The visit aimed to enhance exchange and cooperation between the School and leading Chinese Mainland news organisations, particularly in the areas of student internships and professional training.
During the visit, the School Director Professor Hai Liang gave an overview of the School, introducing its academic vision, curriculum design, and long-standing commitment to integrating theoretical foundations with professional practice. This was followed by an interactive sharing session involving faculty members and students who had previously taken part in the Chinese Mainland internship programme coordinated by the Journalism Education Foundation. The delegation was subsequently given a guided tour of the School’s professional teaching and production facilities.
This visit facilitated exchanges and mutual understanding between the two sides, further strengthened the School’s collaborative relationship with central media organisations, and laid a solid foundation for the continued development of student internships and exchange activities.
The delegation arrives at New Asia College and poses for a group photo in front of the School’s main base, the Humanities Building.
The delegation engages in discussions with undergraduate students of the School to learn about their internship experiences in Beijing last year.
