講者簡歷:

New-Territories is a polymorphous architecture organisation based in Bangkok and Paris. Founded in 1993, it is fronted by an androgynous, trans-gender avatar, S/he, whom François Roche writes, speaks and teaches on his/her behalf. New-Territories seeks to articulate the real and/or fictional geographic situations and narrative structures that can be transformed with technology, robotic and human natures, whether physiological or psychological. Its architectural designs have been exhibited at Centre Pompidou, Tate Modern, Barbican Centre, Mori Art Museum, SFMOMA, CCA Montreal, Venice Architecture Biennale, Istanbul Biennale, among other international venues. Over the past two decades, Roche has taught in London, Vienna, Barcelona, Paris, Los Angeles, as well as at Columbia University from 2006-13, and RMIT Melbourne during the past four years.

講座摘要:

Experimental architecture has shifted towards a new corpus of instrumentations, made not only out of tools, computation, mechanisation, but also out of fictions and lines of subjectivity synchronous with our symptoms, out of fears and great escapes in the “here and now”, where everything is knotted and intertwined, in the process of becoming, and in a movement of becoming. In this lecture, François Roche will discuss his latest creative work and the concept of “vulnerability” as a masochism agenda and robotic process.
