Thousands of Freshmen Join CUHK’s Orientation Activities

The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) held the annual Joint College Activity today (31 August) to foster in new students a sense of belonging to the University and the colleges.  Over 2,000 newly enrolled students of the nine colleges marched to the University Mall from their campuses.  They then joined together to chant slogans and form a gigantic symbol '16 CU ' to show their solidarity.

Prof. Vivian Lee, Chairman of the Joint Committee on New Student Orientation said, ‘To show the friendly spirit among colleges, the new students joined hands together to form a gigantic symbol “16 CU” and heart-shaped patterns during the Joint College Activity, demonstrating a united front irrespective of their different backgrounds and different faculties.’
