Accompanied by Executive Director Mr. Tony Shing and 14 volunteer, 33 members of the Hong Kong Federation of the Blind, paid a visit to the campus of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 29 October.
On behalf of the University, Ms. Amy Tsui, Director of Communications and Public Relations greeted the group and exchanged souvenirs with Mr. Shing. Then the group visited several landmarks of CUHK around the central campus, including University Mall, the roof-top garden of Lady Shaw Building and had a first-hand experience of the sculpture “The Gate of Wisdom” by Ju Ming. Later, the group attended an interesting lecture by Dr. Chan Kam Leung from School of Chinese Medicine on an introduction of the traditional Chinese medicine. Finally, the visit was concluded by a wonderful Chinese musical performance by members of the New Asia Chinese Music Society.
Hong Kong Federation of the Blind is a Hong Kong registered non-profitable charitable organization established in 1972. Its aim is to unite all visually impaired people in Hong Kong and fight for opportunities for visually impaired people in receiving education, training and jobs, as well as enhance their social position. Its basic members include visually impaired person of all ages and sexes.
