Synopsis of Lecture:

Join the “uBuddies2013”
What kind of activity can enable you to help others while enriching and fostering your personal growth and development? Have you ever thought of becoming a peer counsellor so as to share your experiences and provide support and assistance to your peers?
As part of the “Caring Campus” Campaign, Student Counselling and Development Service of the Office of Student Affairs have launched the “uBuddies” Peer Counselling Network since 2010. Three batches of uBuddies have completed their trainings and are in service now.
We are now inviting you to join our uBuddies Network so that we can build a truly caring and supportive campus in CUHK.

Training (conducted mainly in Cantonese):
* 4 sessions totalling 12 hours on peer counselling skills
* Overnight training camp to build team spirit and to enhance self-understanding and self-confidence
* 4 sessions totalling 12 hours on Mental Health First Aid Standard Course
* Practicum supervision

Qualifications:
* CUHK uBuddies Certificate
* Certificate of Mental Health First Aid Standard Course (certificate is jointly issued by The Mental Health Association of Hong Kong and acknowledged by the ORYGEN Research Centre of the Department of Psychiatry, The University of Melbourne)
* Nomination for the Best uBuddies Awards

Remarks:

Criteria: Full-time non-final year undergraduate students
Quota: 50
students
Deposit: $400 (deposits will be refunded upon completion of at least 80% attendance of all training components)
