Biography of Speaker:

Dr. Hu Tao is China Program Director of WWF US and serves as Chairman of Board of Professional Association for China’s Environment (PACE). He was a Senior Fellow and Senior Associate at World Resources Institute (WRI) – a Washington DC based think tank. Prior to joining WRI, he was the Senior Environmental Economist of Policy Research Center of Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP), China. Dr. HU Tao’s research topics cover environmental economics, policies and governance issue; globalization, trade, investment and environment issue; and climate change as well as other global environmental issues.

Synopsis of Lecture:

Environmental globalization is being recognized, such as global warming, biodiversity loss, ozone depletion etc. Are you also aware that economic globalization is strongly affecting environment? How dose China’s OBOR Initiative affect its own environment? How does Trump Administration’s likely anti-globalization trade policy affect China’s environment? The speaker will give his views based on his studies in the field of trade, investment and environment in China, US and UN organizations.
