After the performance, audiences can look for their favourite poems, dance with friends and take photos with the 1,000 meter long calligraphy

Remarks:

Introduction of Artists:

Ms LoiChe Chan is particularly interested in the Cursive style and followed the calligraphic handwritings of Zhang Zhi Wang Xizhi, Zhang Xu and Huai Su. Touched by the “unreadable letters and characters” of Mark van Praagh, she studied the music and free expressions in each of the great Chinese masters all over again.

Mr Mark van Praagh creates ‘unreadable letters and characters’ inspired by manuscripts from different cultures – a veritable world calligraphy. Through Intensive exercise with these self-invented characters new handwritings in his work emerge time and again. On occasion, it looks like century old scriptures and then again it appears as a newfound universal language.

Ms Sarah van Praagh mainly developed her skills in dance improvisation, modern/jazz dance, and classical ballet. In the cooperation with Mark and Loi-Che, Sarah discovered a new source of inspiration. The way music inspires her with its melodies, rhythms, sounds and spheres are now enhanced by the calligraphic characters painted by Mark and Loi-Che with their lines, forms and rhythms. As Loi-Che and Mark create lines, forms, and rhythms with their pen and inkwells, Sarah makes them with body in motion.
