Purpose of the Competition

To celebrate our 50th Anniversary, the University plans to mount up a “Column of Sustainability” at the staircase of the Yasumoto International Academic Park (YIA) to explicitly convey the vision and commitment of CUHK as a green university at this prominent location.
CUHK has set goals to reduce energy use (per capita) and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions (per capita) on campus by 25% and 20% respectively by 2025, and also adopted a number of medium‐term sustainability targets. We are seeking creative input from our students and staff in designing a piece of eco‐art installation that will enable the University community to learn about these targets and the university’s progress towards them, and thereby further encourage cultural and behaviour changes on campus through this engagement and awareness process. With this new landmark, we will also demonstrate by example to the society at large.

Who can Join

The competition will have a Student Section and a Staff Section. Students (undergraduate and postgraduate students) and staff may submit designs as individuals or as teams.
