Biography of Speaker:
Lim Song Hwee is Professor of Cultural Studies at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and the author of, among others, Tsai Ming-liang and a Cinema of Slowness (University of Hawai’i Press, 2014). He recently completed a book manuscript entitled “Taiwan New Cinema as Soft Power: Authorship, Transnationality, Historiography” under the aegies of a CUHK-Clare Hall (Cambridge) Visiting Fellowship. He is also recipient of a CUHK Research Excellence Award in 2016/17.
