Synopsis of Lecture:
Different approaches can be taken to categorize cultural industry businesses. Three basic models are identified according to the way of marketing. This talk applies aesthetic and economic principles to discussing cultural industries. Cases in the U.S., Japan, Italy, South Korea and U.K. will exemplify distinctive marketing principles and management strategies (including commodification of space) for each type.
