Event Details:

During the 18th and 19th centuries, countless native Africans were brought to America as slaves. While slavery set them part from homes and families, it couldn’t take away their music. When they were exposed to Christianity, they learned the European hymns and combined them with traditional African music to create their own style of music, all while working in the field. With heart and soul they praise God, and yes, they also gave birth to Gospel Music.

Gospel Music has a deep impact to the development of R&B, Soul, Hip-Hop, Jazz and Rock etc. From a musician prospective, Gospel Music is full of challenges as it’s a mixed of music genres like Jazz, Blues, Funk.

takh-oo’, is an independent band formed by local musicians in Hong Kong who are deeply passionate about Gospel Music. Together with Aineo Gospel Choir, they will host a Gospel concert on 30 Jan 2016. The team hopes to bring new elements to the worship experience for audience in Hong Kong. This concert will be an energetic and joyful one. It will surely vibrate all eardrums with the sound of Love, Faith and Hope.

This concert is co-presented by the Divinity School of Chung Chi Collage, CUHK (DSCCC) and Aineo Music. Net proceeds of the concert will be donated to the “Chung Chi Theological Education Fund” of the Divinity School of Chung Chi Collage, CUHK to support the development of theological education.
