From Dirty Team to Oxford

30 Oct, 2020

Dr. Timothy Liong Tipoe is a graduate of the MBChB programme in the Global Physician-Leadership Stream of CUHK. He has been awarded the Esther Yewpick Lee Millennium Scholarship to pursue a DPhil in Clinical Medicine at the University of Oxford this year. Going to UK alone to further his study, he has chosen to focus on clinical research in HIV. Doing research is an open road where anything can come up and nothing can be predicted. Why did he make this decision?

When the outbreak of COVID-19 started earlier this year, Dr. Tipoe joined the dirty team at the Prince of Wales Hospital and fought the virus in the frontline. With such experience, he realised that epidemiology is an important speciality in Hong Kong. To understand more about Dr. Tipoe’s inspiration to become a doctor and his commitment to medical research, watch the video now!
