Celebrating the 10th Anniversary of Professor Sir Charles Kao being awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics

In 2009, Professor Sir Charles Kao was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics for his accomplishment in the development of fibre optic technologies.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Professor Kao's award, the University is paying tribute to the remarkable achievements of this 'Father of Fibre Optics'. Three 'Charles K. Kao Scholarship Endowment Fund' awardees will give accounts of their studies and research and how they are passing on his spirit as eminent researchers to contribute to the world in different ways.
